About Me

My photo
Minnesota, United States
I am retired and loving it. I have a wonderful husband of 55 years. We have 3 awesome children, 7 fabulous grandchildren and 8 incredibly precious great-grandchildren. I enjoy reading, walking, biking, card making, tatting, X stitching and quilling. My winters in Minnesota are spent mostly indoors while in the summer my husband and I spend quality time on our Harley enjoying the beautiful scenery in our area. I hate to cook, love anything sweet and have mixed feelings about exercising.

Paris Here I Come!

I was introduced to a new card site called Outlawz. http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/
I really like it. It has a challenge for every day of the week. It feels strange to be at a new site but I'm getting the hang of it. Today they had a challenge to make a card using Red, Yellow and Black with a traveling theme. This is what I came up with. It's funny but this is one of the few times something turned out even better than I imagined it. I must have had angles looking over my shoulder,

  1. So glad you joined The Outlawz and found Through The Craft Room Door, too! And thank you for the sweet comments at my blog.
Your card is really cute--love your image, the cute clouds you added, & the great ribbon. :^)
    Hugs, Penny
P.S. One time, when I was driving, I saw 9 hawks and a dragonfly. It was sort of surreal and stayed with me. So I decided to name my blog after that experience. :^)

  2. Hi Joan, I love your profile comments. Except for the Harley, I think you are describing me! (we're coming up on 50 yrs, but only 3 granddogs...guess that's diff too, and we live in SC, but hey, you still described me! LOL) Love your traveling card, and thanks for the info on your faux bleach. New technique to me. I'll join as a follower, be coming back to see you. Hope you'll visit me when you have time. Always nice to have a new & talented friend...who also hates cooking. Well, I don't totally hate it...I like to eat! LOL.

  5. Hi Joan
I popped in to leave you some luv regarding the card you entered today over at the Outlawz TT challenge, but it wasn't posted on your blog yet. So I will say it here because this one is equally beautiful.
I love all your cards, and the one today in particular I like how you've designed it. I would love to know if you used a die cut or punch for that sentiment that you've run your ribbon through. It is absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for joining us this week, and any week for that matter :)S
