About Me

My photo
Minnesota, United States
I am retired and loving it. I have a wonderful husband of 55 years. We have 3 awesome children, 7 fabulous grandchildren and 8 incredibly precious great-grandchildren. I enjoy reading, walking, biking, card making, tatting, X stitching and quilling. My winters in Minnesota are spent mostly indoors while in the summer my husband and I spend quality time on our Harley enjoying the beautiful scenery in our area. I hate to cook, love anything sweet and have mixed feelings about exercising.

Tatting

I'm having lots of fun learning to tat. This is one of the cards I recently made (for an amazing friend named Rosy) with tatting.

Outlawz Challenge Card

I’m sorry I haven’t posted any cards in a while. I had some health issues that got in the way of my creative juices. Hopefully things will continue to improve and I can get back on track. This is a card I made today for the Outlawz TT challenge to make something with a sport theme. I used a digital figure skating image colored with pencils. My papers are from SU.

CAS Outlawz Challenge January 13, 2013

This week’s CAS challenge on The Outlawz was to make a card with a music theme. I used spirelli to create my image. I sponged ink onto the background and tag to give it some depth.

The Outlawz CAS challenge 1/6/2013

I was honored to be asked to be a guest designer on The Outlawz CAS team for the month of January. My first card theme was to “use something new”. I’m new to tatting so I started there. I added some new tatting thread, a new crystal teardrop, a new stamp and there you have it….my new card.

Monday’s card challenge on the Outlawz was to create a project with a vintage feel. Nothing feels more like vintage than a pretty piece of tatting….and nothing says vintage worse than a misshapen piece. This heart is terrible but it wasn’t my fault…really…the pattern had two mistakes in it!

RIP Aunt Marie

WOW it’s been a whole month since I posted anything.  Time goes by so quickly.
Our dear Aunt Marie passed a few days ago.  I thought I’d share this card I made for her family.   She was a very special lady and will be missed by many.
I made the cross with quilling strips and the flower was punched out of the background paper.  The center is a quilled rose. It looks a little odd because the back of the paper was white.

Challenge #160 - "C" is for...

This card is my entry into Mo Manning's challenge # 160 "C" is for cooking.
